no. Lactation occurs when there is a hormone that is produced during pregnancy.

if your post-menopausal then you are unable to lactate. those hormones flew out with the mensus. Lots of many happy years with the new baby.

YOU NEED TO SEE A DOCTOR . IF YOUR NOT PREGNANT THEN YOU COULD HAVE A INFECTION IN YOUR BREAST. DO A SELF BREAST EXAM. IF YOU FEEL A LUMP. GO HAVE A MAMMOGRAM. BUT EITHER WAY YOU NEED TO SEE A M.D. OK. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF. BETTER TO KNOW WHY. THEN TO WAIT AND WONDER AND WORRY OVER IT.

NO a post meni woman can not lactate! You can however use a special designed bag that goes over your sholder with a tube you tape to your nipple. It can work, you need to speak w/ a lactation consultant asap.

I think that is great that you want to try that! I have read about it, but I’m not sure about the post-menopausel thing. I think it would be worth a try though! Just don’t beat yourself up over it if you can’t, many babys have grown up with formula! Good luck with the baby, you will love being a mother!

Well I have seen a few links that suggest you can.
Also men can lactate.
This is of course easier if you take hormones BUT if you put the baby to breast and maybe take some herbs what is the worst thing that will happen? Your baby will enjoy suckling even if they get no milk.
Maybe consult your local La Leche League.
