i don’t think you can get preg after menopause. and at her age she would be very high risk for pregnancy problems and birth defects. may want to look into adoption or foster parenting :)

If she has gone through menopause, then she can no longer have children. Menopause is when a woman no longer ovulates (releases an egg), which is necessary for pregnancy. You should consult with her OB/GYN and possibly a fertility doctor who can advise you if your wife has truly gone through menopause or if fertility treatments would be necessary. She is at an increased risk of having problems with her pregnancy, so talk to doctors to get all the facts.

Aww. Well, at 44 is she done with complete menopause, or is she going through perimenopause? If she’s already had complete menopause, then she cant get pregnant anymore. There’s still a small chance that she can get pregnant if she’s in perimenopause, but it will be very difficult and risky. If you guys want children and she can’t get pregnant, domestic adoptions tend to be inexpensive, and you can get children of any age if you don’t want a little baby. Also, perhaps maybe there’s someone willing to be a surrogate for you? Fertility treatments are sometimes covered b y insurance, so look into that. Good luck. :)

It’s possible for a woman to have a baby after menopause if she has in vitro fertilization. Menopause occurs when the woman exhausts her supply of eggs, so you would need to get an egg donor. Obviously this process would be very expensive, unfortunately. Otherwise you two might discuss adoption or fostering a child.

Well she has no eggs of her own after menopause which makes things more difficult… surrogacy perhaps?

Really, I would have thought an adoption might be a useful means of raising an heir. You do realise how expensive children are, don’t you? Why not get a puppy.

The technical definition of menopause is when a woman ceases to have a period or menses for 12 consective months. Some women who have reached menopause still menstrate.

Diagnosing menopause can be easily achieved by a blood test measuring for the follicle stimulating hormone (FSH). When FSH is very high, it reveals that your body isn’t producing enough estrogen and signifies that you have entered menopause.

At this point, a woman is no longer able to get pregnant naturally. The average age for menopause is 52, but it can occur as early as a woman’s 30′s or as late as her 60′s.
